As a second career, counseling has been a calling for Rhonda in her desire to serve God’s Kingdom and those in need. With her medical background, she recognizes the importance of the holistic—mind, body, spirit—approach to the health and well-being of an individual. She feels the role of the counselor is to be a healing presence addressing each client’s unique and personal needs. This integrative approach allows for flexibility and the use of various methods and techniques that are useful in working towards a successful outcome.
Rhonda is a native Atlantan and lives with her husband of 35 years along with their five dogs. She is the mother of four children having lost her oldest son at age 25 in 2011. She has a special heart for helping those suffering through the journey of grief and mourning from her personal experience of loss. Her son died from practicing breath-holding resulting in Shallow Water Blackout. She subsequently founded a nonprofit to raise awareness. See www.shallowwaterblackoutprevention.org.
