He

I originally wrote this poem to honor my husband, the father of my four children. I have seen the love in his heart in how he cares and is always there for them remaining steadfast. This poem is posted to honor all dad’s who give their children unconditional love.

As I wrote more and more of the poem, it took a life of its own becoming a poem honoring our ultimate father, our Heavenly Father. So this week I honor all fathers and above all our God who is the model and source for unconditional, eternal love.

He

This is the man I love and who loves me
He loves me even though the real me He sees

Still He has promised to never forsake or leave
By my side in the past, present and what's to be

He lives in my heart, mind, and soul
Walking through dark nights my hand He holds

He protects and keeps me safe
He watches over me until I wake

He always remains faithful, loving and kind
No matter what, He remains mine

He makes me into a better person
He is God's Son; this I am certain

His willing heart is always ready to give
With each breath, it is to serve Him I live

He loves me more than any other
In His wounds for me He suffered

It is only in Him God gives me reprieve
Life without Him I cannot conceive

For Him my heart beats each beat
Each day I thank God that we did meet

It is He I call my Savior and brother
For me there will never be another

He was born to save me from my sin
It is only through Him that I shall win

He has made the ultimate sacrifice
This He is my beloved, Jesus Christ
