Rise Up

God created us with an invincible human spirit that can rise from the ashes to victory. We can choose to not let the hardships and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic defeat us. We can be victors, not victims. We can be overcomers with our God-given human will, strength, and determination. This hope God built into our DNA to cause us, no matter the circumstance, to be able to rise up.

Rise Up

The human spirit will never die
Like the phoenix from the fire it will rise

From the ashes a crown of beauty is received
The heavenly glory to come will satisfy all our needs

A hundred times the child may stumble and fall
But he will learn to run leaving his crawl

This is something that can never be taken or stole
In us, it is courage and character it molds

It was built into us to always strive
This is what allows our humanity to survive and thrive

We forever aspire to the formidable heights
We never surrender the ineluctable fight

Wars, obstacles, and bondage cannot defeat
But, they separate the strong from the weak

The key is held in the power of our minds
It is strength of will and determination to find

Wisdom and discernment keep us knowing
But, heart and soul are what will keep us going

Trust in God takes away our fear
His Promise is not to forsake, but to stay near

It is in the Spirit we are not victims but victors
It is He who redeems, rebuilds, and restores

We can become worriers or warriors
We can plunge, crash or soar

Let us rise up, be on fire and fly
There is no limit, not even the sky

If God is for us, no one can stand against us
So rise up, rise up, no choice, we must
Rise up, rise up, in God we trust

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I
praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?"
Psalm 56:3-4

"And provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them
a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."
Isaiah 61:3a

"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Joshua 1:5b

"What, then, shall we say in response to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31
