Sorrow to Song

Sorrow To Song

I carry such deep sorrow
It will never end with tomorrow

I have learned to live with the pain
I do not look for any change or gain

Choices have left their mark
They remain closely nestled in the dark

Any distraction from the constant ache
Shadows of hurt loom are my mistake

A moment's joy of laughter gives reprieve
But never can it fulfill my heart's inner need

If I could only grasp to take my leave
I wish my mind could hope and conceive

The torn hole still lives within
It festers with knowledge of my sin

So I carry my sorrow, the sadness lives
I am trapped not knowing where and what to give

Help me Lord, my heart to unlock
If only I could turn back once more the clock

Happiness will never now be truly mine
But I will manage to cope, somehow be fine

The discontent is now solid and bound
No solace or relief will ever be found

Searing loss has been the cost
My heart now seems permanently lost

I can't repair; the damage is done
Even pretending, ignoring, playing at fun

A moment's escape releases my trap
But no changing or breaking the lethal mishap

So my cross to bear I will carry my burden
My heart goes on, it will grow and burgeon

Sacrifice is my lasting, sacramental device
This is enough, it must and will suffice

In my brokenness, I am Yours to fully serve
Wounded healer, my name is deserved

Please God, lift this pain
Don't let me continue to stay the same

Use my suffering to make some good
Yes, heal me Lord if only somehow You could

God, You can make things right
When I walk by faith not by sight

Turning to You, I wish I had
With You I can hold both, joy and sad

With You all things are made possible today
It is You who knows and leads the Way

Only You can make me again whole
My life You transform and mold

My sorrow still lives and will live on
But now my heart also sings a joyful song
