Truth

Here is an excerpt from the ninth chapter of my new release, "The Signature of God":

"God is the source and embodiment of all truth. He wants us to be able to know the truth and to have our lives better because of it. So He reveals it to us through the person of Jesus, in what the Bible says about Him, and in how the Holy Spirit convicts us of Him. In Him we know what is real and good and right in life; and from Him comes all wisdom.

Jesus tells us in John 14:6, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' In John 18:37 He says, 'The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.' And in John 8:31–32, He tells those who believe in Him, 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.' To live like we were created to live, the Bible tells us we need Jesus. He is the truth, He is life, He came so we would know Him, and He wants to free us from the conditions of sin and death. When we believe in Him, we have the opportunity to know the greatest heights and depths of love, what is true about life, and how we should live it.

The world was made by God, shaped by Him, and is held together by Him. We can find Jesus in it when we earnestly look and when we observe God’s natural order and consider the way He’s made us. God has always made Himself available to us. He transcends time and place and has built truth and wisdom into the context of our lives."

I wrote the poem "Truth" with these thoughts in mind.

Truth

Truth is truth; it never changes
Remaining the same in all faiths, all languages
It stands outside of time, alone
It brings us peace, carries us back home

Flows as an endless river through every age
Always available, it never lessens or fades
It is there to nourish and to drink
To challenge us to make us think

Truth and wisdom go hand in hand
Cannot separate, conviction it demands
It’s in God’s heart and His mind
If we seek truth, we will find
